Northwest River Camping Platforms
For the true adventurer, Currituck County offers free, reservable camping platforms along the Northwest River, designed specifically for paddlers, with a cluster of three platforms located roughly 2 miles by water from the Shingle Landing boat ramp. These elevated platforms provide a rustic, nature-focused experience in the swamp and marsh environments of the Northwest River. **Please note you must paddle out to the camp site. Camp sites do not offer any running water or bathroom facilities. There is no fee to camp, but reservations are required. Bells Island Campground
Nestled along 22 beautiful acres on the Currituck Sound, Bells Island Campground offers tent sites, RV hookups, and clean restroom and shower facilities.
