Barracuda Walkway

Located between Perch Street and Tuna Street, Barracuda Walkway provides public pedestrian access to the Atlantic Ocean through Corolla’s Whalehead community. A wooden walkway carries beachgoers along the designated route across the dunes, helping protect the natural dune environment while providing convenient access to the shoreline.

There is parking available nearby for this access, although visitors should not expect a large, full-service public parking facility immediately at the access. There are no public restrooms or showers listed at Barracuda.

The beach is typically staffed by a seasonal lifeguard, with lifeguard service from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., during peak summer season. Barracuda is a pedestrian access and does not provide a public vehicle drive-over ramp.
